Imagine being labelled as the new N’Golo Kante and having to even attempt to fill those massive shoes? Yeah, me neither thanks.
Players will often get compared to other players, especially when you are a Chelsea player. Fans love a bit of nostalgia around their clubs, and they love to look back at players who were big parts of the most successful eras at the club so far. So when there is some comparisons between a new player they sign and a Chelsea legend who was part of so much success at the club, it will always bring more pressure.

It all depends on how the player handles the pressure of it, but for Moises Caicedo, that period was pretty tough for him.
We all noticed it at the time, we saw a very quiet and subdued player arrive, especially compared to just how incredible he was at Brighton before he came to Chelsea.
But Caicedo is now playing some great and consistent football and has become one of the most important players in Enzo Maresca’s starting Xl.

As cited on SPTC, Caicedo said:
“A lot of things that cost me because I had the pressure of being the new N’Golo Kanté.
“That affected me a lot, but when I put that behind me, I started to focus only on helping my team and proving that I am worth what they paid for my transfer.”
“I’m now totally adapted to the Premier League, I have to keep going like this, showing every game so that people continue to see the same Moisés and know that I have no limits. That’s my mentality: I have no limits.
“I want to keep trying very hard so that people see what I’m made of. I try to do it in every training session and every game and people can see it.”
