Bruno Guimaraes was excellent on Wednesday night.
Leading by example, a real captain’s performance.
Like a lot of the criticism this season regarding Newcastle United, collectively and as individuals, it has been way over the top with regard to Bruno Guimaraes.
He might not have quite hit the consistent very high levels we have seen previously, but the Brazil international has still been decent this season, helping United to wins over the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Forest, plus very credible draws against others such as Man City and now Liverpool.
Bruno Guimaraes getting a very good assist for Isak’s opener last night, as well as a second assist when delivering the free-kick for Schar’s late equaliser.
Bruno was also key in the move for the second NUFC goal, his pass finding Isak, who knocked it in behind the Liverpool defence for Gordon to finish.
Bruno Guimaraes even won the toss of the coin ahead of kick-off!
Bruno Guimaraes via his social media in the aftermath of Newcastle 3 Liverpool 3:
“A mix of emotions about today’s game.
“Happy to have reached 100 games in the Premier League and to have helped with two assists, but I believe we deserved a better outcome.
“We move forward together and must keep fighting the same way from now on.
“Thank you for the support Newcastle United fans!”
