The newspaper says he ‘continues to be wasted’ by Newcastle in the Premier League, with the winger sitting and watching the 3-3 draw with Liverpool from the bench on Wednesday.

The only action he’s seen in November is with the Paraguayan national team, where he was a key player during the international break. At Newcastle, though, he is ‘suffering from a lack of opportunity’.

His last game for the Magpies was on 27 October in a 2-1 loss to Chelsea, when he came on in the 68th minute. He hasn’t been seen since then and the Paraguay national team has ‘serves as an escape’ for him.

He’s now spent the last three games as an unused substitute and ‘encountered the same drama’ that he had found himself in previously.

It’s all setting up for a January exit, with River Plate keen for months and several reports making it clear that they think he’s a transfer worth trying for.
