Liverpool will need to make a number of changes to their starting line-up when they face Everton on Saturday.
The Reds are in the midst of a hectic calendar, with the game at Goodison Park coming just three days after Wednesday’s draw with Newcastle.
Liverpool were not good against Newcastle, with several players looking leggy and off the pace.
One who was perhaps a little better than most on the night was midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
Mac Allister has once again been a key member of the Liverpool squad this season, featuring in all 21 of their matches so far.
However, the 25-year-old is certain to miss Saturday’s fixture after picking up a booking at St James’ Park. Left having to fill a Mac Allister shaped void, Arne Slot has reportedly already decided what to do.

Dominik Szoboszlai set for Everton start
Mac Allister was not happy with his booking against Newcastle. It was indeed a really harsh looking yellow card.
Nevertheless, it’s still quite possilbe that the Argentine would have picked up a caution later in the match anyway. He does have a tendency to do so, hence his imminent suspension.

With Ryan Gravenberch looking incredibly tired at Newcastle, Slot has a bit of a dilemma over his midfield at Goodison.
But according to The Athletic, the Liverpool head coach is ‘virtually certain’ to make just one change.

It’s claimed that Dominik Szoboszlai is almost nailed on to replace Mac Allister in the starting line-up, with Gravenberch and Curtis Jones going again.
Wataru Endo, Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott are the other options for Slot.
Liverpool should go full strength at Everton
There should be no worries at all over Szoboszlai coming in to replace Mac Allister on Saturday.
Szoboszlai was good from the bench against Newcastle and should be fresh and ready to go for the Merseyside Derby.
The Hungarian has had a slightly mixed season so far, but there has been far more good than bad. Paul Merson called Szoboszlai ‘excellent‘ during his last start against Man City and the cameo at Newcastle was very promising, too.
There may be mild concern over fatigue and risk of injury for Gravenberch, but with the job almost done in the Champions League, Liverpool will no doubt have one eye on resting a few for Tuesday’s trip to face Girona.
Slot would rather have Mac Allister available for Everton, but the rest will also do him good heading into a busy period.
