Pressure continues to mount on Gary O’Neil as the Wolves manager makes a big claim on why he should remain at the Old Gold.
After Wednesday night’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Everton, many Wolves fans wanted O’Neil sacked.
Chants of ‘you are getting sacked in the morning’ were directed at O’Neil as the club slipped to 19th in the Premier League table.
However, come Thursday morning the Wolves manager remained in the job and took a press conference to preview the West Ham game.
While it now seems that O’Neil may remain in charge for West Ham, the Englishman has stated why he should remain in the job.

Despite a big majority of fans wanting O’Neil sacked, the Englishman has remained defiant despite the mounting pressure.
Before the Everton game, O’Neil stated that ‘he wasn’t worried about his job’ as Wolves’ situation became more dire.
However, now he has come out fighting after the press conference bombarded the manager with questions surrounding his future.

It now seems inevitable that O’Neil will be sacked by Wolves. Whether it is before the West Ham game or later in December, the writing is on the wall.
However, questions now need to be asked about Fosun and Matt Hobbs. Wolves’ situation isn’t just down to the manager and this shows in their delay in sacking the Englishman.
It has been reported that both David Moyes and Graham Potter aren’t interested in the Wolves job given the club’s model.
Given Wolves have plenty of internationals in the squad, if Fosun cannot attract an experienced manager for the job, they are a bigger problem than O’Neil.
If Wolves are relegated this season, the club have no one to blame but themselves as they have continued to ignore ongoing issues for years.
