Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland played key roles in Manchester City’s 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest.
Doku and Haaland linked up for City’s third goal of the night and quite often, both players looked on the verge of joining forces to punish Forest.
In the second half, the Belgian played an excellent driven cross in the Manchester City striker’s path.
However, Doku’s pinpoint cross was cleared off the line before Haaland could tap the ball into the back of the net.
Pep Guardiola’s men put in an exciting attacking performance where all their forward-thinking players thrived.

Jeremy Doku reveals why Erling Haaland is ‘not happy’
Haaland urged his Manchester City teammates to keep notching up consistent wins together after their latest exploits.
However, on the pitch, the Norwegian often seemed frustrated, perhaps due to several of the attackers’ final ball being far from ideas.
Reflecting on his goal, Doku revealed that the reason why Haaland is often unhappy due to unsatiable appetite to score goals.
Speaking to GOAL’s Richard Martin, the 22-year-old said: “He just said congrats. Obviously, it’s normal. He’s an attacker, he wants the ball. I try to look for him, this action I shot, maybe it was a goal or a miss. Today was a goal. Erling [Haaland] is not a striker who is happy. He’s knows he can’t get every ball so just wants to be in the best position. It’s unlucky he didn’t pick up a goal but you saw how important he was today.”
However, when the former Rennes winger’s stinging effort struck the back of the net, Haaland instantly celebrated and wheeled off to join his teammates in a collective embrace.
Doku reacted to Manchester City’s win by thanking the supporters.
Haaland’s ‘bigest dream’ reflects why he can be frustrated
In September 2022, Haaland told beIN SPORTS that his “biggest dream” is to touch the ball only five times if that means he scores five goals.
The two-time Premier League winner said: “People might be talking about how I don’t touch the ball enough and this and that. But I don’t care about this. I know what I’m going to do and what I have to do.”
“This is exactly what I keep doing.”
“My dream is to touch the ball five times and score five goals. That’s my biggest dream!”
With Haaland not getting on the scoresheet on days such as against Nottingham Forest, it is evident why such a phenomenal goalscorer can be frustrated as his main aim in every game is to put the ball in the back of the net.
Doku will be cognizant of the weapon at Manchester City’s disposal and hope to create more and better chances for him to score.
