Chelsea made it four wins on the spin in all competitions last night with a 5-1 victory against Southampton at St. Mary’s.
The Blues could easily have scored plenty more goals too. Chelsea created the most expected goals by an away side in Premier League history.
Enzo Maresca took the risk of rotating heavily, however that decision was proven right by great individual displays from the likes of Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku.

There were a number of players who the manager deemed just to important to rotate out of the side. Stephen Warnock was impressed by Marc Cucurella’s performance, as he started back-to-back games.
Another player who retained his spot was Moises Caicedo, although he was back in a more familiar central midfield role alongside Enzo Fernandez rather than the right-back position he was in against Aston Villa.
Having already been touted as one of the best in the league this season, pundits are now starting to add his versatility into the mix when discussing him.
Tim Sherwood said before last night’s game that thinks the Ecuador international can fit both positions on the pitch absolutely perfectly.
He said to Amazon Prime: “He fits two positions. He’s brilliant. I think they’ve got the right blend at the moment, when Enzo plays with Cole Palmer, and it’s not reliant on him to create. He can break up play and he does that very well.”

What is Chelsea’s best midfield?
Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia have established themselves as very difficult to drop for Maresca at the moment, with all three of them starting in the 3-0 win vs Villa.
Pundits believed Caicedo and Lavia was the best pairing the boss could put together, however the return of form from the World Cup winner has now made him undroppable.
It has to be said the Argentine’s set pieces are a real boost too. Axel Disasi said they had worked on corners before his goal last night.
