The good feeling returned to Goodison Park on Wednesday evening as Everton thrashed Wolves 4-0 in what was a must-win game.
There was no room for slip-ups last night. Sean Dyche simply had to win for his future after a number of poor results in recent weeks.
Prior to kick-off, Everton were being linked with former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao, so it very much seemed like a deciding game for Dyche and his coaching staff.
They answered those doubters emphatically as they ran away with it pretty comfortably despite a number of missed opportunities.
Ashley Young earned most of the plaudits after his sensational goal and all-round display at right-back.
Speaking after the game, Dyche revealed what he told Everton players in the dressing room before kick-off which clearly united them.

Sean Dyche reveals what he said in pre-game talk vs Wolves
After being thumped by Manchester United 4-0 on the weekend, many managers would be ripping into their players.
However, Dyche took a completely different approach as evinced by his team talk before the Wolves game.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
“I said on the weekend I wasn’t disappointed with a lot of the performance but you can’t make those mistakes,” Dyche said after last night’s win, via Everton’s website.
“[Tonight] we haven’t made mistakes and I thought we’ve had that real intent and desire to score goals. We mixed our performance and played well.
“It’s not just for the press, I told the lads beforehand, that I couldn’t be more proud of them. That will never change.
“The things they have gone through here and they’re still working, still have the desire to go and change things, still have the desire to go and win, still have the desire to go and put sweat and belief on the shirt and the badge. That will never change – the pride I have in these players.”
Dyche stresses the importance of having a ‘group mentality’
Everton evidently don’t have a quality-littered squad like many of the sides in the Premier League, so they have to find other ways to win at times.
Set-pieces played a big factor last night but also having a collective mentality, which Dyche has stressed the importance of.
“It’s a group mentality. We haven’t got a deep group in numbers and we’ve had lots of injuries, but it’s about having that group mentality,” the Toffees boss explained.
Dyche’s uniting message before the game clearly worked and it seems the squad are still playing for him.
So talk of sacking him will certainly dampen but they must build on this win and keep up the momentum they’ve built.
