Close media ally of **West Ham** director of football, [Florian Plettenberg](https://x.com/Plettigoal), has revealed that Edin Terzic is no longer in contention to replace [Julen Lopetegui](https://www.claretandhugh.info/julen-lopetegui/) as Hammers head coach.
Lopetegui has been holding meetings at West Ham’s Rush Green training ground today, while the Irons board has convened this afternoon to determine the Spaniard’s future.
At this stage, it appears increasingly unlikely that Lopetegui will survive the day in the Hammers’ hot seat, with Graham Potter emerging as the latest bookies’ favourite for the role.
Terzic had been among the frontrunners to become West Ham’s next manager, having guided Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final last season. His previous role as assistant manager under Slaven Bilic at West Ham had certainly boosted his chances of landing the job at the London Stadium.
However, Plettenberg—who has excellent contacts at both West Ham and within German football as a Sky Sports correspondent—has confirmed that Terzic is now out of the running.
The German journalist has also suggested that Kasper Hjulmand is a serious contender for the West Ham job, along with other potential candidates.
