FC Barcelona have had to deal with their fair share of injuries this season, and those issues continue to persist. At no point this season has Hansi Flick had the entirety of his squad fully available. However, at least having his key players available would be a great blessing for the Barcelona coach.
The return of Lamine Yamal to the starting eleven, for instance, was a massive boost for the team. It helped them defeat RCD Mallorca in their latest La Liga outing, and quite fashionably so. Yet, there are other players who are still recovering from their respective injuries.
In terms of importance, however, it does not get any bigger than Ronald Araujo. Barça’s star defender, the Uruguayan centre-back has been out of action since the summer of this year. Day by day, however, he continues to gain momentum and looks to be nearing his full return.
According to Mundo Deportivo, moreover, there is also a chance that he could feature against Real Betis in the next game judging by his recent displays in training. Hansi Flick himself will be the one who confirms this, however, and that update will likely arrive in his upcoming press conference on Friday.
The German coach will likely reveal if the player is fit enough to feature in the squad that travels to Seville. However, if not, he could continue his recovery and possibly make the trip to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund. Until that confirmation arrives, however, Araujo’s progress will need to remain constant.
