Jeremy Doku warns Liverpool and Arsenal if anyone thinks title race is ‘over’
After a promising debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium, Doku has struggled with injuries this term.
However, with plenty of the 2024/2025 season still left, the youngster has the chance to nail his place down as a key player in this City side.
After Manchester City beat Nottingham Forest, Doku sent a title warning to Liverpool and Arsenal as well as to those who are writing his side off already.
The Antwerp-born speedster told GOAL: “They can say whatever they want.”
“We just stay in our bubble and we’re still in December. If they think it’s over, let them think it’s over. We are going to look game by game, try to win as much as possible, and we will see at the end.”
In Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester City, Pep Guardiola’s men face a number of difficult fixtures.
The best way for City to pile the pressure on to their title rivals would be to win their next five league games.
Jamie Carragher predicts Man City to finish below Chelsea
Doku’s message was aimed to his side’s doubters, with Jamie Carragher predicting Chelsea to usurp Manchester City in the league table this season.
Carragher said: “I’m telling you, I think Chelsea are going to finish above Man City. They’re winning games with ease. The way they played against Arsenal, the way they played against Liverpool.”
Judging by Doku’s claim, he would seemingly relish his Manchester City side being questioned and proved their critics wrong.
The Belgian must do his talking on the pitch.
Based on Doku’s latest showing, he looks like a man with a point to prove.
