Manchester United were well beaten in the end against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night. A good defensive performance in the first half was undone in the second period.
Having threatened to take the lead from a corner kick in the first period - Thomas Partey really ought to have scored with a free header - Arsenal made their set-pieces count in the second half.
Jurrien Timber headed home at the near post from a Declan Rice delivery, before William Saliba scored off his backside from Partey's knockdown from a Bukayo Saka corner. Arsenal at set-pieces is not so much a secret weapon but a well-rehearsed, well-known weaping that no one can do anything to stop.
Nicolas Jover is the set-piece coach and he is turning out to be one of the best signings from Manchester City. Fulham will be the next side to try and keep the gunners out from set-pieces on Sunday.
And the Whites would do well not to learn from Manchester United and what they did. Not only did Partey have a free header he should have scored from, so did Mikel Merino in the second half, while Joshua Zirkzee needed Noussair Mazraoui to head off his own goal-line to spare him scoring an own goal from a corner too.
And a new photo has emerged showing what happened for the second Arsenal goal in north London on Wednesday night. You can see the photo below.

Partey's knockdown hit Saliba on the backside and went in, with the Arsenal defender rushing off celebrating as if he'd scored one of the goals of the season. Putting Arsenal 2-0 up against United was enough reason to celebrate joyfully, but as the ball hits Saliba there are three United players standing behind him.
All three appear to be marking Saliba, but doing nothing, with one of the players - Rasmus Hojlund - even having something of a scared look on his face, which can be seen in a super close up shot.
Hojlund is with Lenny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, all standing in a line close together behind Saliba, but doing precious little to defend the ball.
