Arsenal FC v Manchester United FC - Premier League
Mikel Arteta is ready to cut his losses with Fabio Vieira
Arsenal are ready to cut their losses with Fabio Vieira and will listen to offers for the out of favour midfielder.
The Portgual Under-21 international joined the Gunners from Porto two years ago in a £32 million deal but struggled to win a regular place in his manager’s first XI.
A series of injuries also stifled the playmaker’s progress and he was loaned back to his former club in the summer.
Arsenal opted not to include an obligation to buy clause in the deal but Mail Sport report that they are looking to sell the 24-year-old, regardless of how he performs this season.
Vieira has made just four league starts for Porto this season, but has scored in each of his last two games in all competitions.
Two other bit-part players currently out on loan, Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos, will also be sold come the summer.

‘The idea of returning came from me. I love this club and I’m going to give everything on the pitch,’ Vieira told O Jogo in the summer, explaining his decision to return to his boyhood club.
‘I’m happy, obviously, it’s my home. I’m looking forward to being at the stadium, playing in front of these fans and doing the best I can for this club this season.
‘It was a chance that, above all, came to me because it was something I already wanted: to play. I had a difficult time in England, an operation, and at this moment I felt that FC Porto was a good opportunity to continue growing and developing.
‘I felt that this was the right place to do it this season.’
