As a result, he is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs from the start of January.

A move would see the end of De Bruyne's City career after 10 seasons in Manchester.

However, the club are willing to offer the Belgian to one of their sister club's when he leaves, The Telegraph report.

The move would see De Bruyne granted the chance to join another City Football Group side.

He has previously been linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League and MLS, where CFG club New York City play.

CFG also own four other European sides in the form of Girona, Palermo, Troyes and Lommel.

Meanwhile, their portfolio extends to clubs in India, Australia, Japan, China, Uruguay and Brazil.

A further group of clubs in Bolivia, Singapore and Turkey also have partnerships with CFG but are not owned by the group.

De Bruyne could yet still pen a new deal at the Etihad Stadium beyond the summer of 2025.

It comes after he made his return to the starting line-up on Wednesday night.
