Real Madrid have shown confidence that they can get a deal done for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, but the Canadian’s future remains in the air. The Bavarian giants have not given up on him, and are now negotiating with the player directly rather than his agent.
It has recently been reported that Los Blancos are growing frustrated with Davies’ agent too, and now Florian Plettenberg of SkySports DE claims that ‘significant progress’ has been made on a deal for him to stay at the Allianz Arena. Plettenberg does say that more details need to be clarified, but Davies has made major concessions over salary, and more talks will take place in the next three weeks.

Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown interest in Davies, with the latter reportedly agreeing terms with Davies back in March. However Plettenberg classes it as ‘likely’ that he signs a new deal with Bayern.
if Davies does stay in Bavaria, it would be a major blow for Los Blancos, who had been planning for his arrival for some time next summer. They do have time to respond with a fresh offer, but Real Madrid have typically adopted a ‘take it or leave it’ approach to negotiations in recent years.
