The situation at Chelsea is far more positive right now under Enzo Maresca than where they found themselves 12 months ago.
The Blues were languishing in the mid-table places last season under Mauricio Pochettino at this stage, and although they fought back to a top six finish have still been forced to play Conference League football this season.
The starting side commonly named by Maresca in the Premier League is not that different at all to one that was at Pochettino’s disposal when he was in charge.
However, it has to be said that the fact that players have had their returns from injury managed well has allowed them to feature more regularly, something which didn’t happen when the Argentine was in charge.

Eden Hazard aims dig at Mauricio Pochettino
Club captain Reece James has not been able to feature much at all this season under the new manager due to injuries not leaving him alone, however when asked by Eden Hazard he was clear that things were going very well at Stamford Bridge.
The Club legend has also seemed to notice an improvement in the side, pointing out just how much better things were now for everyone involved, including his son, Leo.
He said to A Star Barbers: “How’s the new manager Reece?”
James replied: “Yeah bro, he’s good.”
Hazard said: “Better than last season for sure.
After James nodded his head, the Belgian said: “You know Leo was in depression, because he’s a crazy Chelsea fan. He was in depression last year. He was crying all game.”

The owners brought an ambitious plan with them to Stamford Bridge, however it finally looks as if it is showing its head with Maresca at the helm.
