Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover is close to a contract extension with the club, along with other members of Mikel Arteta’s backroom staff.

In the aftermath of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Manchester United on Wednesday night, all the talk has been about set pieces.
As so often this season, Arsenal were a huge threat from corners on the night, and they ended up scoring both of their goals from them. Jurrien Timber headed home the first from a Declan Rice corner, and William Saliba deflected in the second after a Bukayo Saka corner.
Even without Gabriel Magalhaes in the lineup, Arsenal still caused United all kinds of problems, so much of the credit has to go to set-piece coach Nicolas Jover for how well he’s drilled the team – even without their biggest aerial threat.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that Arsenal are in the final stages of extending the contracts of Mikel Arteta’s backroom staff, including Jover.
The team are expected to receive extensions to 2027 and a significant pay rise, just as Arteta did. McNicholas adds that Jover knows he is valued at Arsenal and by Arteta, it’s just a case of getting the new contracts over the line.
With Edu Gaspar resigning, Arsenal’s Richard Garlick has taken over talks, and the club are confident of finalising an agreement with Jover, as well as with Carlos Cuesta, Miguel Molina, and Albert Stuivenberg.

With the way things are going on the pitch, you’d imagine the club will be more than happy to accept paying out a bit more to keep the backroom team together.
And after four corner goals in the last three games (plus one penalty resulting from a corner), there could hardly be a better time to finalise Jover’s extension in particular.
