The Spanish club confer the award on the players who dedicated their entire career to a single team, with Milan icon Paolo Maldini also receiving the prize in 2016.
Athletic Bilbao awarded the former defender at the San Mamés stadium minutes before the start of their La Liga clash against Real Madrid, which the hosts won 2-1.
