Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has spoken up about his decision to leave Chelsea for the Gunners, referring to it as the best thing he could have done. The German forward is leading the line for the Gunners in his second season at the club as they look to win silverware this term.
Many fans were shocked when former Bayer Leverkusen man Havertz, not necessarily the most adored player in West London, made the switch to join the Gunners. Mikel Arteta's side were happy to part with a reported £65 million for the versatile attacker in the summer of 2023.
Kai Havertz endured a tough start to life at the Emirates but has begun to thrive in a centre-forward role for the Gunners. In an interview with Sky Sports, Havertz stated that joining Arsenal from Chelsea was the best decision for him, and he looks forward to claiming silverware in red.
"For me, it's the best thing I could have done. I'm so happy with the support of everyone who has helped me during my time there. I've only just started and I hope to continue playing well and winning titles," Havertz said (via Tribal Football).
A divisive figure in his time at Stamford Bridge, Kai Havertz will forever remain in the history books at Chelsea, having scored the winner in the 2021 UEFA Champions League final. He played 139 times for the Blues, scoring 32 goals and providing 12 assists. He won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup titles at the club as well.
Since moving across London to Arsenal, Havertz has taken his game up a notch and is playing his best football. In 71 appearances for the Gunners, he has scored 23 goals while providing eight assists.
