Chelsea and Man United have been hit by a major blow. The 23 year old target of both clubs is already in negotiations with his current club.
Chelsea and Man United both want to sign another striker
Chelsea and United are both keen to sign another striker next year. The Blues have been very good in attack this season. Nicolas Jackson who is the main striker has been in superb form this season.
Chelsea do not have an urgent need to sign another striker. But, Nkunku who is playing as backup striker is very heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. This may open up space which the Blues will like to fill quickly.
On the other hand, United have not been able to find a clinical striker in recent years. Both Hojlund and Zirkzee have been unable to stay consistent and hence the Red Devils have struggled for goals.
Victor Boniface has came across as a key target for both clubs. The 23 year old has been very impressive since last season. He helped Bayer Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga title for first time in their history last season.
Boniface scored 21 goals and recorded 9 assists in just 34 games last season. This season he has once again been very good and has scored 8 goals and picked 1 assit in 15 matches so far. Premier League clubs have shown a lot of interest in him but may have to face disappointment in his pursuit.
Boniface in negotiations with Leverkusen
Florian Plettenberg has tweeted on his X account that Leverkusen are keen to extend the contract of their 23 year old striker. The negotiations are ongoing and Boniface will extend his contract until 2029. In addition, he will become one of the top earners at the club.
Plettenberg further tweeted that United are monitoring Boniface but have not held any talks so far. The Red Devils have more concrete interest in signing Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting than Boniface.
