Barcelona star to miss out against Real Betis as Hansi Flick takes caution approach

After their resounding 5-1 victory over Mallorca on Tuesday, Barcelona are back in action on Saturday as they travel to face Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin. Hansi Flick will have the vast majority of his first team squad available for the trip, but one player that will not be in contention is Ronald Araujo.

Araujo has been out for the last five months, since he suffered a high-grade hamstring tear whilst playing for Uruguay at the 2024 Copa America. He has been in training with his Barcelona teammates over the last couple of weeks, but according to [Diario AS](https://as.com/futbol/flick-frena-a-araujo-n/), Flick is taking no chances in regards to his return.

As a result, Araujo will almost certainly be out against Betis. Instead, his comeback match could be next midweek when [Barcelona](https://www.football-espana.net/category/la-liga/barcelona) face off against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. If that is not the case, he could be involved the following weekend when Leganes go to the Estadi Olimpic.
