One of the big issues that Barcelona are currently facing is the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. As things stand, both players are only eligible to play until the end of 2024, with the club needing to re-registering them for the second half of the 2024-25 season.
While solutions are being sought at Can Barca, the issue is also causing problems between La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation. As per MD, the latter’s stance is that Olmo and Victor would be able to play at the Spanish Super Cup in January without being re-registered, as it is not the league.
However, La Liga’s stance is the opposite, and they plan to block the duo playing in Saudi Arabia if they are not re-registered by Barcelona beforehand.
Barcelona will hope to avoid any friction in this case by simply securing new registrations for Olmo and Victor before they jet out for the Spanish Super Cup. However, acquiring the necessary funds will be much easier said than done.
