Everton manager Sean Dyche has done himself no favours with comments he made after the 4-0 win against Wolves, according to The Esk.

The Blues battered their fellow strugglers at Goodison Park in what was considered a crucial match given the relegation implications.

The Toffees are five points clear of the drop zone after the victory but face Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in their next four matches.

However, Paul Quinn, who is known as the Esk on social media, called out the former Burnley boss for his comments after the game, in a post on Bluesky [5 December, 6:51], saying: “Great result last night but Dyche not doing himself any favours- “the fans are always on edge here”

“Yes, it’s because we care & we see an organisation not meeting the standards we set for our club. Standards that should be viewed as a motivation to do better not a challenge that questions acceptance.”

Dyche needs to keep Everton fans onboard

If the Blues are going to stay in the Premier League and Dyche is to keep his job then supporters, manager and players need to be in unison.

Supporters are already unhappy with the manager given the fact that the club have won just eight league games in 11 months.

He needs to do all he can to ensure he keeps the support of fans and therefore the board, especially with a brutal run of fixtures on the horizon.

The win against Wolves was a hugely positive result but it cannot be overshadowed by Dyche making comments that anger the fans, that is counter-intuitive.

The relationship between Dyche and the club may come to an end in the near future anyway, the Friedkin Group reportedly want their own man in the dugout once they complete their takeover.

Dyche must do all he can to ensure the Blues are as far away from the relegation zone as possible while he is still in the dugout, alienating supporters will not help.
