Wolves lost yet again in the Premier League against Everton – and Mario Lemina made a potentially ominous claim after the game.
Wanderers produced an utterly abject display on Merseyside, losing 4-0 to a side who have had trouble scoring goals all season.
Wolves defended shambolically, with several goals being conceded from set-pieces.
After the game, Gary O’Neil admitted Wolves couldn’t deal with Everton’s physicality, and it really was a stroll in the park for the Toffees.
There’s been a lot of speculation today about the manager and his future. But it looks as though O’Neil will be in charge of Wolves against West Ham United next Monday, much to the frustration of fans.
Mario Lemina defended O’Neil after the Everton defeat, but he also made one comment that will certainly get some people talking.

Quite possibly, this was Wolves’ worst display all season.
The Brentford defeat was pretty bad, but Wolves at least scored three goals in that game.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
But this was just terrible, and the scoreline actually probably flattered Wolves. Everton were just that superior.
Wolves never looked likely to get anything from the game and afterwards, captain Mario Lemina gave his verdict – and hinted there may well be a mentality problem at the club right now.
He said (Wolves official): “They deserved their win because they were more intense than us, just what we’d been lacking last week as well. We need to step up now and try to put our head in the right place, because we’re far away from the level.
“I think it’s mentality. We just want to play with three, four players, and this is not enough. We need the whole team to be consistent, and at the moment we are not. I’m sad for the Gaffer because he’s trying everything. I’m sad for the club, because they don’t deserve it. We need to talk, to be honest with each other, and try to find the solutions.”
It’s unclear what exactly Lemina means here. But he does outright say the word ‘mentality’.
The slightly confusing part is the ‘three, four players’ line, which could well mean that he thinks a number of players in the squad don’t have the right mentality. He does then talk about the whole team needing to be consistent.
If it’s the case that only three or four players are showing the right mentality, then that is extremely concerning.
If Wolves have a handful of players not having the right mentality, then O’Neil should not stay a second longer.
Wolves need someone who is ruthless at the helm, someone who won’t stand for drop-offs in mentality.
