Liverpool should have one eye on reinforcing their position atop the Premier League table in January.
Having stayed mostly quiet during the summer transfer window, the Reds have a mounting to do list in the transfer market.
The New Year provides an opportunity for Arne Slot to bolster the Liverpool squad ahead of the rest of the season.
The one player Slot has brought in during his time as Liverpool head coach so far was signed from Italian giants Juventus.
But while Federico Chiesa is yet to get going at all at Anfield, the Reds are now said to be trailing one of his former teammates in Turin.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have taken a liking to attacking midfielder Kenan Yildiz.

Liverpool keeping tabs on Kenan Yildiz
Having taken over the No.10 shirt this season, Yildiz has been a regular starter under Thiago Motta.
The 19-year-old is a precocious talent who Liverpool supporters will likely already be well aware of.

Liverpool were heavily linked with Yildiz during the last January transfer window as he angled for more playing time at Juventus.
Despite having been granted that by Motta, Plettenberg says that Yildiz is still being tracked by some of Europe’s biggest sides, including Liverpool.

“Kenan Yildiz is on Manchester United’s shortlist, as revealed on Monday,” he reports on X. “However, the 19-year-old top talent is also aware that PSG, Arsenal, and Liverpool are monitoring him.”
Interest be damned, though, Plettenberg claims that the Turkey international is currently expected to stay at Juve.
“The current tendency is that he will continue to play for Juventus in the 25/26 season,” says the reporter.

Kenan Yildiz worth tracking for Liverpool
Liverpool may be looking for a player like Yildiz in the transfer market in 2025.
The youngster is a two-footed attacking midfielder who is comfortable playing wide or through the middle.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero called Yildiz ‘spectacular‘ back in September and he is only going to improve with time.
Juve were reportedly looking for around £34m to sell Yildiz around a year ago and although he’s now a more important player at the club, Liverpool should be interested at that price.
As Plettenberg says, the Turk is still likely to remain at Juventus. But Yildiz is young and has a long career ahead of him. If he’s on the market at some stage, then Liverpool will know all about him.
