Liverpool remain in pole position at the top of the Premier League table, though they suffered a setback on Wednesday night.
The Reds dropped points in their Premier League meeting away at Newcastle United as the hosts scored a late equaliser.
Liverpool fell behind to Alexander Isak’s 35th-minute strike from distance, but Curtis Jones equalised early in the second half.
Newcastle then went in front against through Anthony Gordon’s 62nd-minute effort, but Mohamed Salah struck twice to put Liverpool on the brink of victory.

However, Caoimhin Kelleher misjudged a late free kick as he expected it to go out for a goal kick, only for Fabian Schar to slide in and score from a tight angle.
Despite the disappointing result, there were some positives for Liverpool, not least another superb display from Salah.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has now shared what he wants to happen regarding Salah’s future amid his contract uncertainty.

Robbie Fowler wants new Mohamed Salah contract sorted out as soon as possible
Fowler, speaking on Amazon Prime at full time, said he wanted Salah’s agent to be there “first thing in the morning” in order to get him to sign a new contract.
“Mohamed Salah was unbelievable in the second half for Liverpool,” said Fowler. “He was a little bit-part in the first half, but was class after the interval.
“His stats and data are incredible. We talked about him getting that new contract and his agent should be there first thing in the morning to get him to sign that contract.
“He is that player who can change a game. He has moments and he is exceptional in those moments. He is a match winner.”
Meanwhile, BBC Sport’s Pat Nevin compared Salah to Lionel Messi after the Liverpool star’s second goal on Tyneside.
The latest involving Salah contract stalemate
TBR Football sources previously revealed that the length of Salah’s potential future contract is an issue for Liverpool at present.
However, journalist Simon Hughes now believes that Salah is now open to the idea of signing a one-year extension at Liverpool.
“He’s not saying, I want to play till I’m 39 or anything,” Hughes told the Walk On podcast. “He’s saying, just give me another year. I want to stay at Anfield.”
This bodes well for Salah’s future at Liverpool – he’s still got a lot to give to the club, and hopefully the path is now clearer for a contract extension.
