Arsenal are reportedly willing to listen to offers for midfielder Fabio Vieira ahead of the January transfer window.
Vieira, 24, struggled to cement a regular place in Mikel Arteta's team since switching FC Porto for the Emirates in the summer of 2022. In his debut season with the Gunners, Vieira made 33 appearances in all competitions but the following year, he was reduced to just 17 appearances.
As a result, he re-joined his former club Porto on loan last summer in the search for regular minutes. A minor muscle injury saw him miss the first few games of the season, however.
After being slowly reintroduced into the squad, the Portuguese has six Liga Portugal appearances to his name, four of which were starts. Although Vieira is set to return to north London in May when the season ends, his long-term future at the club is believed to be in doubt.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are 'ready to listen to offers' for the midfielder. With Mikel Merino arriving from Real Sociedad in a marquee transfer and Ethan Nwaneri continuing his development from the Academy ranks, it will be difficult for Vieira to cement a place in the squad.
Upon arriving back at Porto, Vieira said: "I went through a difficult time in England and in this moment I felt that Porto was a good opportunity for me to continue growing and developing. I felt that this was the right place to do it this season.
"I have more responsibilities [in the Premier League]. Obviously, they [English teams] play in a different style than we play here, but both there and here there are teams that always have control of the ball. Most of the time, they are in possession of the ball, in offensive processes, but we also have the defensive process and both are very important in football."
Vieira signed for The Gunners from Porto for £34.26million in 2022. Since then, the midfielder has played 49 games for Arsenal in all competitions, with three goals and nine assists to show for his efforts.
In addition to Vieira, his compatriot Nuno Tavares is said to also be 'likely' to leave next summer. The defender is currently on loan at Lazio and the Italian side have an obligation to sign him if certain conditions are met.
Due to his impressive eight assists in 10 games for Lazio, Tavares, was crowned the "king of assists" by the Portuguese paper Record earlier this season. The Mail report adds that even if a sale isn't triggered, Arsenal will look to part ways with Tavares.
