Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has hailed his move from Chelsea to the London rivals in 2023 as 'the best decision' of his career in a not-so-thinly veiled dig at his former club.
The 25-year-old has flourished under Mikel Arteta since that £65 million move and regularly leads the line for the Gunners having been converted from an attacking midfielder into a lone striker. Havertz has bagged 23 goals in just 71 appearances for Arsenal, having managed 32 across 139 Chelsea outings between 2020 and 2023.
The Germany international won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 but has only lifted the Community Shield since joining Arsenal. Nonetheless, Havertz shared his delight to be part of Arteta's set-up ahead of the midweek victory over Manchester United in the Premier League.
He told Sky Sports: "For me, it's the best thing I could have done. I'm so happy with the support of everyone who helped me during my time there. I've only just started, and I hope to continue playing well and winning titles."

Havertz has nine goals in all competitions so far this season, having managed 14 across the 2023/24 campaign. His links with former club Chelsea are particularly noteworthy this year with Enzo Maresca's side somewhat surprise title contenders after a strong start to the season.
Havertz said: "We're still in the first part of the season, and anything can happen. Personally, I think how the Premier League is getting tougher year after year.
"Liverpool have suddenly reached the top level and they are continuing to show it, week after week and I definitely have to give them credit. But there are a lot of games to play, points to get, so we will definitely be ready for the fight."
