Cole Palmer has opened up on his life away from the pitch after a whirlwind 18 months for the Chelsea star.

Palmer, 22, is in the midst of another stunning season, with the attacking midfielder having scored nine goals and added six assists in just 14 Premier League games.

It comes after an astonishing breakthrough campaign in 2023-24 when Palmer won both the Premier League and PFA Young Player of the Season following his £42.5million move from Manchester City.

Palmer has developed into one of the best English players, while his relaxed and humble persona off the pitch has endeared him to fans.

During the November international break when Palmer withdrew from the Three Lions squad with injury, he made a surprise appearance at a McDonald's drive-through.

And, in an interview with the Men In Blazers podcast, Palmer opened up on that trip - which came after he was also seen at Stockport's League One clash against Wrexham - and revealed what his standard order at the popular fast food chain is.

Palmer was also spotted at Edgeley Park in a ski mask watching Stockport play Wrexham

'Double cheeseburger, 20 nuggets and a strawberry milkshake,' the 22-year-old explained.

During his trip to McDonald's, Palmer left those at the venue in shock, with two employees seen posing with the Premier League star, while pulling out his iconic 'cold' celebration.

Meanwhile, at the Stockport game, Palmer was seemingly doing his best to remain anonymous, as he was seen in the crowd wrapped up behind a ski mask, something that the 22-year-old explained is different to when he wasn't as well-known.

'Yeah, it (my life) has changed massively,' he said. 'You can't go to certain places because you'll get pestered and you can't be bothered with it because you just want to chill.

'When you go to a shop round the corner you're might think "oh someone is watching me or something".'

Given the major change in his life, Palmer also revealed what he missed the most given he now has global status.

'Going to play five-a-side,' he said. 'I swear that's actually true. Yeah, just going to five-a-side with mates and playing and that.'

Palmer's cult status has been enhanced by his aforementioned 'cold' celebration, with the move being replicated far and wide across professional and grassroots football.

Palmer also admitted he gets satisfaction when seeing youngsters replicate his 'cold' celebration

And the 22-year-old explained that seeing his celebration gain wider recognition is something that he enjoys.

'It's a good feeling when I see it,' he added. 'Especially when I see random kids in random places doing it after scoring in grassroots football or something like that so it's nice.

'It feels like that (was not me not so long ago).'

Palmer, who scored in Chelsea's 5-1 rout of Southampton on Wednesday, is back in action on Sunday when the Blues face Tottenham.
