€100m dream striker transfer would mean Newcastle sign Sporting star

Arsenal and Chelsea are both looking to add an elite striker to their already impressive attack force, and it seems both have similar ideas about which direction they’ll go in.

CaughtOffside have exclusive sources which tell them that the Gunners and the Blues both have landed on pretty similar shortlists – which is understandable given how few options there actually are out there at the thin end of the wedge.

The dream player that both teams would love to sign – and would probably get fans most excited – is Alexander Isak. The Newcastle striker scored a superb goal against Liverpool yesterday and continues to impress as one of the league’s best attacking players.

A flag waves at Stamford Bridge by night.

He’s got 6 goals in 14 games this season, not an incredible return, but his all around game is excellent and he’s a superb talent without doubt.

The issue? CaughtOffside say that the Magpies will want €100m or more for the elite Swede, and they have the money to back that stance.

Newcastle already have plans for major windfall

Interestingly, it’s suggested that Newcastle would use the money from any sale of Isak to sign his fellow Swede, Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Club de Portugal.

Also apparently on Chelsea’s list is Dusan Vlahovic, the Juventus striker who was linked with us a lot before making the move to Turin. We can’t see that happening really, unless Juve becomes desperate to sell or the Serb gets closer to the end of his contract.

With Nicolas Jackson doing so well, lots of Chelsea fans would argue the need for an elite striker has diminished, and we’d be better off finding a player similar to Jackson who is willing to back him up rather than spending €100m on a striker who might get frustrated if not able to play.
