Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are all set to secure the long-term future of their attacking sensation Amad Diallo with a new deal.
According to a report from Football Insider, Amad Diallo could soon pen down a new deal at Manchester United committing his long-term future to the club. He is in advanced talks with the Premier League giants and soon there could be an official announcement.
Diallo made quite a name for himself while coming up the ranks and playing for the first team of Atalanta. His sensational rise along with his massive potential resulted in a big-money move to United at the start of 2021. The Red Devils forked out a massive £37 million to secure his services.
The young winger struggled to establish himself in their first team and had multiple loan spells away from the club. An impressive loan spell at Sunderland during the 2022/23 season, forced Erik ten Hag to reintegrate him into their senior side last season.
Diallo revives his United career
He spent the majority of the season on the sidelines and was involved in just 12 matches last term. But, things have slowly started to click for the 22-year-old at Old Trafford. He impressed in the handful of opportunities that the Dutch manager gave him before getting sacked and the arrival of Amorim seems to be a massive boost for him.
The Ivorian international has been involved in all four games that the former Sporting boss has taken charge of. He has been used as a right wing-back and the new role seems to be helping him showcase his true potential to United fans.
A new deal for the Ivorian international
Diallo who has eight goal contributions this season could become one of the most important players under Amorim as he can feature as a wing-back as well as a winger on either flank. His impressive start to the new campaign has forced United to think about extending his stay at the club.
His current deal at Old Trafford runs until the end of the season. While the Red Devils have an option to extend it for another 12 months, United are looking to offer him a new deal as a whole. They want to secure his future and are willing to offer him improved wages to tie him down to a long-term contract.
