Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been linked with a potential Hotspur Way exit as the frustrations among the Spurs camp continue to grow amid the Brazilian’s injury and consistency struggles.
The North Londoners spent a hefty £60m to land the former Watford star from Everton in what was seen as a highly anticipated transfer, albeit it has not been anywhere near as initially expected with Richy struggling to find his feet at White Hart Lane. He has barely scored 16 goals donning the Lilywhites badge, and his injury struggles have seen him spend the majority of his time in North London in the treatment room.
To put that into context, the 27-year-old has only played barely 88 minutes in the ongoing Premier League campaign, and he has been subject to links with a move away from N17.
£40m Everton return on the horizon for Richarlison?
Tottenham center-forward Richarlison's future hanged in a big turmoil following a serious injury against Aston Villa.
Frustration mounts at Tottenham as Richarlison faces exit amid injury woes
John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, insists that Richarlison’s former side Everton could come into the picture with a potential £40m transfer for the Brazilian international. He goes on to insist that the North Londoners will likely accept a cut price fee for Richy in the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, the podcast host said:
“I could see Everton trying to re-sign Richarlison. He could be the perfect signing for when they move into their new stadium. A big statement transfer, and a player who loves Everton.
“However, what could they offer, probably £40million at the absolute maximum? Even if they offered £30million, I’d still say Tottenham should cut their losses and accept that.”
It is becoming increasingly evident that the Lilywhites will be looking to call it quits and find a way to sell Richarlison in the upcoming windows. And if Everton (or any other club in that matter) comes with a bid of around £40m, then Daniel Levy would be willing to cut his losses.
