Manchester United eye Alphonso Davies ‘talks’ as ‘contact’ made over £45m transfer

Manchester United are said to be keen to open talks over a possible move for Alphonso Davies.

Manchester United have reportedly ‘asked’ for a meeting with Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies and his representatives over a possible free transfer in the summer.

The full-back is out of contract with the German giants at the end of the season as is yet to agree to a new deal with the club. He will therefore be able to talk to overseas clubs, including sides in the Premier League, over a possible move on a free transfer when the January window opens.

He would be able to sign a pre-contract ahead of a summer move. Several clubs have been linked with an interest, including United, and Sport Bild’s Christian Falk has now reported that the club are keen to talk to the player.

Davies has started all but two of Bayern’s Bundesliga and Champions League matches so far this season. He has been with the club since joining from Vancouver in January 2019.

Elsewhere, it is reported that United may have to see off interest from Real Madrid in full-back Diogo Dalot. GIVEMESPORT claim that the Spanish giants have already made ‘exploratory contact over a possible move.

It adds that Dalot is not pushing for an exit from Old Trafford in January and is enjoying working under new head coach Ruben Amorim. It is however said that Real Madrid believe that an offer of £45 million could be enough to convince United to sell.

Madrid have also been linked with an interest in Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Spurs’ Pedro Porro, Sevilla’s Junalu, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.

Dalot has started every Premier League match so far this season, and is able to play weather at left-back or right-back, making him a valuable option to Amorim.
