Dan Bardell believes Rory Wilson could regret leaving Aston Villa like when Carney Chukwuemeka left to join Chelsea.
The 18-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has dismissed several offers of a five-year deal from the club and could leave in January to a European club [The Athletic].
Villa News reported in October that the Scotland Under-21 international was understood to have been forced to train alone and as a result a move away makes sense.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist has suggested that Wilson could regret leaving B6 in a similar vein to Chukwuemeka who left in 2022.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “I think he’ll be exploring his options at this point.
“There is interest from Europe in Rory Wilson so I think he’ll talk to clubs in January and sign a pre-contract agreement.

“It’s shades of Carney Chukwuemeka and it just feels like they’re stuck at an impasse. It could be a move that Villa look back on and regret or one that Wilson looks back on and regrets.
“*Chukwuemeka I’m sure he looks back and regrets because I’m sure if he was still at Villa he’d be playing games.*“

The Chelsea midfielder hasn’t had the best time since moving to West London which has seen him fail to make a Premier League appearance this season.
This fate could prove to be in the future for Wilson who appears to be staring at the exit door at Villa Park.
It looks like a contract isn’t going to be agreed to by either party and as a result, a move away may make sense for the teenager in the winter window.

Given how solid the Villans have been under Unai Emery, it may be a risk for the Scot to leave before earning a first-team opportunity.
