Chelsea and Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing about playing each other on Sunday

Chelsea will be looking to gain more ground on league leaders Liverpool when they take on arch-rivals Tottenham on Sunday.

The Blues closed the gap to seven points with a dominant win over Southampton on Wednesday, where a number of their fringe players made a real impact.

Enzo Maresca took the risk of rotating heavily for the trip to the South Coast, however was repaid in his decision as a magnitude of players contributed to either goals or assists.

Their opponents for Sunday fell to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth last night, in a game where they could easily have conceded more.

Ange Postecoglou has hinted he is not too confident taking on Chelsea due to the injury crisis he has suffered, particularly in the centre-back role.

Chelsea and Tottenham fans predicting Blues win on Sunday

For the first time in a few seasons, Chelsea will go into this game as pretty heavy favourites despite being away from home. They are on a four-game winning run in all competitions since the international break.

Blues supporters on social media are confident of their chances against their rivals, saying that they could be in for a fair few goals if they are on their game.

One user said: “The Flamengo fans on the timeline, I’ll be glad they watch Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur because that demolishing that’s going to happen on Sunday we’ll recreate it for them.”

Another added: “We should really be taking the game to Spurs on Sunday.”

A third stated: “If Spurs attack like this against us, they are dead. Too open in transition.”

One user also said: “If we drop points against Spurs, forget about the 0.1% chance of the title.”

Spurs fans have not been disagreeing with this point of view, fearing the worst before they take on Maresca’s side on Sunday.

One user said: “Tottenham are the most beatable team in the league over the past month. Anything less than a win for Chelsea on Sunday would be an embarrassment. Genuinely.”

If there is one flaw of Maresca’s time at the club so far, it is that they have not yet managed to take all three points from one of the traditional big six this season.

They can bring an end to that run on Sunday, and maybe then even the manager will start to slightly believe they can make a mark on the Premier League title race this season.
