Ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou lifts lid on furious fans clash as Rangers-Spurs tie grows in…

The former Celtic title winner is under serious pressure after losing to Bournemouth.

Ex-Celtic head coach Ange Postecoglou finds himself under increasing pressure at Tottenham Hotspur after an angry confrontation with fans during last night’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

The Australian boss saw his team booed off the field after a first-half header from Dean Huijsen meant the North London giants fell to 10th in the English Premier League table following a run of just one win from their last four games.

Postecoglou joined Tottenham last summer after a trophy-laden still at Celtic Park but been unable to replicate the success he had in Glasgow so far and, following last night’s loss, a video of fans arguing with the head coach emerged on social media. The head coach appearing to react angrily to something that was said to him in the video, as boos rain down from the away end.

“They’re disappointed, rightly so,” he explained. “They gave me some direct feedback, which I guess is taken on board. I didn’t like what was being said, because I am a human being, but you’ve to cop it. I’ve been around long enough to know when things don’t go well, you’ve got to understand the frustration and the disappointment.

When asked what the ‘direct feedback’ he received from supporters contained, he simply stated it was “probably not” for sharing during a post-match press conference. Tensions are high between Postecoglou and some Spurs fans, who were clearly unhappy with the performance of his side’s in last night’s defeat at the Vitality Stadium.

It don’t get easier for the Aussie boss either, who faces a pivotal week of fixtures that sees him host London rivals Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium coming this Sunday, before he returns to Glasgow an intriguing Europa League clash against Rangers next Thursday.

“There are rightly disappointed this evening, because let a game of football game away from us,” he explained. “But I’m okay with all that. All I can say is I’m really disappointed with tonight and I’m determined to get it right. I’ll keep fighting until we do.”
