Last month, we covered claims from Brazil which stated Nottingham Forest, Southamtpon and West Ham United are chasing Corinthians’ Yuri Alberto.
Trivela now provide more updates on where the Premier League trio are at in the transfer race.
At this moment in time, Nottingham Forest are the ‘most interested’ team when it comes to the 23-year-old.
Southampton and West Ham made offers in the past [in 2024 and 2022 respectively] and continue to monitor the striker. The two clubs are behind Nottingham Forest.
Last week, Corinthians president Augusto Melo stated the Brazil international won’t leave in the winter market and again stressed his stance.
“There’s nothing, nothing has ever come for Yuri Alberto and if it’s up to me he’ll stay. Of course he wants to, but he has a lot to do here,” he said.
“Corinthians fans can rest assured, because I’ll do whatever it takes for him to stay here. Especially because his clause is high.”
Despite Melo’s insistence, Alberto’s agents are determined to take him away from the Brazilian club. He initially joined them from Zenit Saint Petersburg on loan in 2022 and his stay was made permanent in 2023.
Corinthians haven’t yet paid the agent fee, and the latter want to take advantage of this to push for a January move. This is around R$3m, which works out at about €470,000.
They also owe R$30m [€4.7m] to Alberto’s agent André Cury and this is another factor that could lead to the Nottingham Forest target’s exit.
Alberto has an €80m release clause, but Trivela claim Corinthians would sell him for €30m. They add interested parties like Nottingham Forest have to offer at least €25m to open talks for a potential deal next month.
The frontman has managed 30 goals and seven assists from 56 games this year.
