Manchester City brought Ilkay Gundogan back to the club last summer and since then the midfielder has again been a reliable squad player for the Citizens.
The German has played 19 times in all competitions this season, scoring two goals. He’s started the last four Premier League games, and played the full 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest.
Gundogan’s current deal at Manchester City runs out in the summer of 2025 and his situation has caught the attention of Inter Milan, who are experts at signing players on free transfers.
InterLive report that the Citizens are looking to kickstart a ‘technical revolution’ by making sure that they have a younger squad. Due to that, it’s believed Gundogan can depart in the summer.
The outlet believe that the 34-year-old has reached the end of his time at the Manchester club and Inter’s CEO is attracted by the possibility of signing him for free next summer.
Marotta is of the belief that Gundogan will be a key addition to the Nerazzurri side, despite his age.
Inter have signed Hakan Calhanoglu, Stefan de Vrij, Marcus Thuram, Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi on free transfers in recent seasons and there is a chance that Gundogan can be next.
