Real Madrid are preparing for an overhaul next year and according to multiple reports in Fichajes, Los Blancos will try and sign some of the top Premier League stars.

Firstly, Fichajes are claiming that Madrid are interested in signing Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch. Then the same Spanish outfit is suggesting that to strengthen their defensive line Carlo Ancelotti will ask Perez to go after Arsenal central defender Gabriel Magalhaes. Apart from these two fresh reports, Madrid have already been linked with Trent Alexander-Arnold for over a year.

After a poor start to the season, Real Madrid have slowly gotten back their form and right now, they are just four points behind Barcelona and that too with one game in hand. Despite this resurgence, there’s no denying that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking really jaded and out of ideas which is why the manager is planning to start an overhaul as soon as possible.

In the previous couple of months, Los Blancos have been linked with some of the top European talents and Gravenberch and Gabriel seem to be the latest additions to this long list.

Can Gravenberch and Gabriel be ideal signings for the Real Madrid style of play?

First, we have to talk about Ryan Gravenberch who has been exceptional for Liverpool this season. He had a decent season last time around but under Arne Slot, he’s shifted gears in the blink of an eye.

With Toni Kroos gone and Luka Modric set to leave very soon, Carlo Ancelotti needs a top-class holding midfielder and with the season Gravenberch is currently having, the 22-year-old can surely do that job.

In the Premier League this season, he has won more than 85% of his aerial duels and 57% of his tackles. He’s also made 75 recovery runs and in 14 league appearances, Gravenberch has been dispossessed just five times.

He can be the ideal midfield signing for Real Madrid but Liverpool are expected to demand around €90 million and this could be a steep ask for the Spanish giants. Slot will not want to lose Gravenberch after just one season in charge however, Liverpool are expected to bring in a new central midfielder so a summer exit is very much on the cards.

The central defensive position has been a major cause of concern for Carlo Ancelotti and there are talks that Madrid might get rid of David Alaba next summer. If these reports are correct then the manager will definitely want a long-term replacement.

The Madrid defence is in shambles right now, because Alaba has been out since December 2023 with a ligament injury while Eder Militao is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a similar issue. Currently, it’s Rudiger and 21-year-old Castilla player Raul Asencio who are pairing up in central defence.

Gabriel has done remarkably well for Arsenal in the previous few seasons and the Brazilian international can come in and perfectly slot in alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Gabriel is currently valued at €75 million and his contract with Arsenal expires in 2027 which means Real Madrid will also have to shell out a fortune to get their hands on the 26-year-old. While the Gunners will be reluctant to lose one of their top players, an interest from Real Madrid will be very hard for Gabriel to turn down.
