“After everything that’s happened”–Arsenal man explains what made Manchester United win feel even better

Arsenal defender Jurriën Timber has hailed their second half performance against Manchester United and admitted getting a goal himself was extra sweet.

[Ajax Fansite cover comments](https://www.ajaxfanatics.nl/jurrien-timber-beleeft-droommoment-na-alles-wat-er-is-gebeurd/) from the Arsenal man today in which he admits the win over Manchester United had an extra special feeling for him personally because of his goal involvement.

The defender was one of the beneficiaries of Arsenal’s mastery at set piece routines as he got on the end of a corner to turn home the opener in the 54th minute.

William Saliba added to that with another goal from a corner in the 73rd minute to secure a 2-0 win for Arsenal that may have kept their title chances alive after Liverpool dropped points at Newcastle.

Mikel Arteta’s side have gotten themselves firmly back on track over the last two weeks after a difficult run of results before the international break seemed to have put the title hopes to bed.

The return of several injured players has been key to that, with Timber one of those affected by a niggling problem that had left him out.

His time at Arsenal so far has been waylaid by injuries, with an ACL injury suffered on his debut seeing him miss the entirety of last season. He’s now back and admits his debut goal against Manchester United made the win even sweeter.

“This was a great moment for me and my family. Scoring for Arsenal, my first goal after everything that has happened. That is a moment and I will definitely enjoy it,” he told Super Sport.

“That is the most important thing today, we really needed that. It was not easy, especially the first half was tough. But the way we came out of the dressing room after the break only made it better.”
