Everton boss Sean Dyche has been handed a boost ahead of the Merseyside Derby as Alexis Mac Allister is set to miss out through suspension for Liverpool.

The Toffees host their bitter rivals for the final time at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday (7 December) and will be keen to secure another famous win.

Last campaign, the Reds fell to a 2-0 defeat on the Blue side of Merseyside thanks to goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The upcoming clash gives Dyche’s side the opportunity to write themselves into the legend in L4 and ahead of the game, the manager has been handed a boost.

The Argentina international is set to miss the derby at Goodison through suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season last time out against Newcastle United (4 December).

This could prove to be a huge boost for the Toffees given how important the 25-year-old has proved to be under Arne Slot this campaign.

Alongside Ryan Gravenberch the ex-Brighton man has proved to be an asset as a box-to-box midfielder, starting all but two games for the Reds.

As a result, his absence will certainly represent a blow for the Anfield club but there is no doubt that Dyche will be eying this up as an opportunity.

This could see someone like Wataru Endo come in from the start which may see Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye and Orel Mangala get stuck in to whichever fringe Liverpool player comes in.

There is no doubt that it will be a tough task for the Toffes to topple the side top of the Premier League but the absence of the Argentine could be the difference.
