Summer ‘definitive’ for Chelsea man – Rediscovering happiness and form away from Stamford Bridge

Next summer will be ‘definitive’ for Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future at Chelsea as he currently shines on loan at Bournemouth.

That’s according to AS, who say the goalkeeper his recovering his best version under Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth and that’s good news for him and Chelsea.

They report that Kepa is ‘recovering his sensations’ at Bournemouth in leaps and bounds and was one of the star men in the 1-0 win over Tottenham on Thursday evening.

He had one of his great nights against Ange Postecoglou’s side and has been back at his best in the last four games after a short break due to a physical discomfort in his groin.

This is a vital moment for his career as he doesn’t have a place at Chelsea and a hoped-for permanent move to Real Madrid failed to materialise after a loan last summer.

His loan at Bournemouth is an opportunity to show he’s a ‘guaranteed goalkeeper’ and next summer, when that ends, will be ‘definitive’ to his future.

His deal with Chelsea ends in 2026 and so the Blues have to sell the goalkeeper if they wish to recover some of the €80m they paid for him in 2018.

A successful loan spell at Bournemouth will help them in that regard and the player, who may have options on the table if he continues to perform as he has this season.
