Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester United is scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, 12 January, and will be broadcast live in the UK on the BBC.
The two clubs are the most successful in the competition’s history, with Arsenal leading the way with 14 titles and United close behind on 13. The teams have met 16 times in the FA Cup, with Arsenal victorious on seven occasions, including two finals in 1979 and 2005.
The last time the two sides met, also in the third round, United ran out 3-1 winners at the Emirates.
As an aside, both sides remain in this season’s Carabao Cup, where Arsenal face Crystal Palace and United take on Spurs in the quarter-finals. Should they progress to the semi-finals and draw each other, it could add two additional fixtures between the sides to the schedule: one five days before the FA Cup clash and the other in February.
