One of Aston Villa's forgotten men is reportedly set for a change in fortune this weekend with his side facing Juventus in a clash between two of Villa's recent Champions League opponents.
Samuel Iling-Junior joined Villa in the summer and was sent back out on loan shortly after, moving to Italian side Bologna. The 21-year-old has struggled to make his mark on Vincenzo Italiano's side, though, having only played three times in Serie A for 'i Rossoblu'.
The winger's new side take on Italian giants Juventus this weekend in a clash between sixth and eighth, the Old Lady the team higher. According to TuttoSport , Iling-Junior stands a strong chance of featuring for Bologna after the England under-21 international performed admirably last time out in a cup game against Monza.
Sending in the cross for his team's third and rattling the bar in a 4-0 Coppa Italia victory, Iling-Junior finally showed his capabilities in domestic competition in Italy.
Although his chances in the league have been limited, he has managed to score in one of his three appearances. The London-born man has had the majority of his game time come in the Champions League, where he has played in all five of Bologna's games so far.
Iling-Junior came on in his loan side's 2-0 loss at Villa Park and played in the last 13 minutes in front the set of fans that he is yet to make an appearance in front of in claret and blue.
Looking forward to the weekend, the match between Bologna and Juventus is certainly one that Villa fans should be keeping an eye on with it being a big opportunity for Iling-Junior to cement his place in the team and show supporters what they are yet to see in a Villa shirt.
