Tottenham have struggled with a lack of consistency this season
Tottenham Hotspur dropped more points in the Premier League on Thursday evening as they were beaten 1-0 away by Bournemouth.
It could have been worse for Spurs as Evanilson saw a second-half goal ruled out for offside, while a late penalty call for the hosts was waved away. The Cherries also missed some clear-cut chances to extend their lead. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster made some key saves as well to avoid Ange Postecoglou’s side an embarrassment at the Vitality Stadium.
The North Londoners have had real problems with consistency this season, as evidenced by their results. Since mauling Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium, they have drawn with Fulham and AS Roma before tasting defeat at Bournemouth on Thursday evening.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was left frustrated following a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Not only were Spurs dismal, but their injury problems compounded after Ben Davies was forced with a hamstring injury. This sees the Welshman join the likes of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, Guglielmo Vicario, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore on the treatment table.
Persistent injury problems have hampered Spurs’ performances, and with the squad stretched to thin, the toll has started taking on the current crop of players. When addressing the media after the game, Ange Postecoglou was asked about the players’ tiredness from the drab defeat. The Spurs boss replied (h/t Football London):
“I don’t know but again we need to be better in the way we deal with certain things. When you are coming to a place like Bournemouth the one thing you do know is it’s going to be a tough game with the conditions and the way they play, they sort of keep under control the whole time.
“But I thought we started well so to give them a goal is just, like I said, madness from us. Not just because it is a set-piece but because we have done that on a number of occasions this year with balls arriving in the box and we are paying a big price for it.”

It is clear the impact injuries have had on the Tottenham squad, with Big Ange finding it difficult to rotate in this busy fixture schedule due to a lack of options. Thus, there is a discrepancy in the performance levels in each game, leaving the gaffer and the fans frustrated.
