Mikel Arteta has kept his cards close to his chest once again over the fitness of Gabriel Maglahaes and Riccardo Calafiori ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Fulham.
The pair were absent as the Gunners beat Manchester United 2-0 in midweek. Speaking after the game Arteta implied that they had a decent chance of being involved at Craven Cottage on Sunday though.
“Gabi was a big risk to play today because he felt something against West Ham,” the Spaniard said in his post-match press conference. “Sunday he's going to be a possibility. With Ricci as well, let's see how we reacts.”
The pair were not involved in full training on Friday, but are understood to have done individual work at London Colney. Arteta though, refused to rule either out.
“We have a few,” the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference. “It’s matchday minus two so we have to modify a few players. Until tomorrow’s training session it’s very difficult to say. It depends how they evolve in the next few days.”
