Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been previewing his side’s upcoming trip to Tottenham this weekend.
The Blues will hope to stretch their three-game winning streak in the Premier League when they play away at Spurs on Sunday afternoon.
Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea manager, isn’t getting much wrong during his first few months at the club. The fact his side currently sits second in the league standings is a reward for the size of his impact this season.
There were eyebrows raised when seven changes were made to the side for the midweek trip to Southampton, but the Blues came through it unscathed with a 5-1 away victory. Paul Merson doubted Chelsea’s line-up at Southampton before Maresca was eventually vindicated in his decision to rest and rotate ahead of Spurs.

Enzo Maresca plan for Moises Caicedo
While speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Spurs versus Chelsea, Maresca made some interesting comments about Moises Caicedo by claiming he could get more game time in a new position.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been a key player under Maresca, starting every league match so far this season. He even showed his versatility in last weekend’s victory at Aston Villa by slotting in at right-back, which allowed Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez to start as the midfield pivot.
“Probably Moi as a full-back inside is something that was in our minds since day one but because of the Romeo injury and Enzo moment, we used him as a holding midfielder,” Maresca said via Chelsea’s official YouTube channel.
“In the last game we decided to use him as a full-back. For sure, in the future we can see him again there. On the ball, we have Moi inside next to Romeo and Enzo. We are quite good. Off the ball, he’s giving us balance. For sure, it could be an option.”

If Caicedo is named on the team sheet as a right-back again, Chelsea fans now know what to expect. He’ll form part of a back four at full-back when the side don’t have the ball, but he’ll drift centrally and higher into his usual midfield role in possession. As a result, it gives Fernandez the licence to push further forward into attack, too.
Jason Cundy predicts Caicedo to start at right-back against Spurs, which now looks a lot more likely after Maresca’s pre-match comments.
Moises Caicedo a top rated player at Chelsea
There’s no doubt that Caicedo has been one of the outstanding performers for the Blues so far this season, playing a key role in their rise up to second in the division.
Here is a look at the top three rated Chelsea players in the Premier League this campaign via FOTMOB:
Cole Palmer – 7.92
Moises Caicedo – 7.57
Nicolas Jackson – 7.51
Chelsea fans recently compared Caicedo to N’Golo Kante, which is praise of the highest order.
There’s still such a long way to go in this 2024/25 campaign, but Caicedo is putting together a memorable individual year, so let’s hope he can keep up the standards he’s set.
