Jonathan Tah’s potential move to Barcelona has gained significant momentum following a recent meeting involving the player, his agent Pini Zahavi, and Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco.
As reported before, Deco travelled to Germany and met with Tah and his representatives in Leverkusen to present Barcelona’s vision and plans.
What next for Barcelona and Tah?
Now, as per Carlos Monfort of Jijantes FC, the project presented by Deco left a strong impression on Tah, who seems highly convinced by the direction Barcelona are aiming for in the future.
It is said that the Catalan heavyweights are already preparing paperwork for the transfer in anticipation of an agreement being finalised.
While no deal has been signed yet, the positive response from Tah has given the Blaugrana enough confidence to advance negotiations.
The potential involvement of Hansi Flick in the project could also have played a crucial role in convincing the 28-year-old defender, given the duo’s history of working together at the German national team setup.

Barcelona’s strategy for Tah includes signing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2025, with the Catalans now ahead of Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the player.
Although some aspects of the deal remain unresolved, both parties left the meeting optimistic about a potential collaboration.
Defensive shuffle at Barcelona
Tah’s arrival, however, would require Barcelona to make adjustments to their current squad. The club needs to free up both roster spots and wage space to accommodate the German international.
Players such as Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen have been speculated as possible departures to create room, although neither has expressed any intention of leaving.
Balancing these logistical challenges will be key for the La Liga leaders as they move forward with the negotiations.
With Tah now seriously considering Barcelona’s offer, the Catalan giants are edging closer to securing his services, marking another step in their ongoing efforts to reinforce the squad for future success.
