Manchester City are currently preparing for their latest Premier League match of the 2024/25 campaign.
On Wednesday night, City beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium, giving the Blues their first victory since October.
Goals from Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku sealed the victory for the Manchester club, who Jamie Carragher said were in a “mini-crisis” following last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool.
This time around, the league champions will be taking on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon in an effort to make it two wins on the bounce.
Ahead of this game, Pep Guardiola delivered an important update concerning the fitness of one of the key figures in his squad.

Pep Guardiola shares Phil Foden update
After missing the match against Forest due to him having bronchitis, Phil Foden is “not ready” to make a return against Palace according to Guardiola when asked about the Englishman in his recent press conference.

Foden’s disappointing season continues
Last season saw Foden start 33 of the 35 Premier League games he appeared in, bagging 19 goals and supplying eight assists in the process.
This led to him being named the Premier League Player of the Season after playing such a key role in guiding his side to their fourth consecutive league trophy.
This campaign has been a completely different story for the 24-year-old, as he’s only started six league games and has yet to find the back of the net.
Now that Guardiola has shared that Foden is not ready to feature against Palace following his midweek absence against Forest, this will definitely be a blow for the Englishman.
Thankfully for City, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish delivered top midfield performances on Wednesday.
This, therefore, could make it easier for the Blues to deal with Foden’s continued absence.
