Crystal Palace await the visit of Manchester City at 3 pm on Saturday afternoon. But first Oliver Glasner has shared his team news.
The one injured player every Crystal Palace is desperate to see back in the fold is 20-year-old gem, Adam Wharton.
Wharton was last season’s breakout star after signing from Blackburn for £22m in January as he ended up being named in the England squad for last summer’s European Championships.
However, this season has seen Wharton struggle with injuries, even requiring injections to make it through games at one point.
Now, after having surgery Wharton is gearing up to return, with Oliver Glasner sharing whether his star midfielder will face Manchester City or not.

Wharton’s absence has been felt in midfield, and his return cannot come a day too soon for Glasner and the Eagles, currently sitting 17th in the league.

Now, while speaking to club media in advance of the Manchester City game, Glasner has admitted Wharton has been training but is not yet ready.
“Adam was out for four weeks, but he trained with us,” the manager said.
“If he can train completely next week, then maybe he will be available for Brighton.
Glasner then admitted he is hopeful that Crystal Palace will have Wharton for the tricky period coming up over Christmas.
“We have Brighton, and then Arsenal twice, and we really hope that he’s available for those games.”
While out, Glasner has been regularly in touch with Wharton in order to keep his spirits high, and clearly the Austrian is excited to get him back.
Glasner on Chadi Riad’s Crystal Palace comeback
Speaking on Friday, Glasner also discussed the impending return of Chadi Riad – who has been out since August – with the Moroccan likely to be like a new signing on his return.
“They’re going in the right direction, training with us but for both [Chadi and Adam] the game is too early,” Glasner explained.
“Especially for Chadi, because he has been out for three-and-a-half months now. He will play with the Under-21s on Tuesday, getting his first 45 minutes in three months.
“He’s doing really well”, Glasner admitted in conclusion.
Tuesday sees Crystal Palace face Anderlecht in the U21 Premier League international cup.
